Bio
In art, as in life, YaSi is caught between worlds. The first-generation American daughter of Iranian immigrants creates songs that toe the line between Eastern and Western influences, between ebullience and sultriness, between optimism and realism. YaSi has toured with Iniko, Raja Kumari & iyla and has opened for the likes of Fletcher, Teyana Taylor, K.Flay, Zara Larsson, Lolo Zouaï and more. Her music has been on Spotify’s Fresh Finds along with publications and blogs like NPR, Earmilk, and Indie Shuffle & MTV.
YaSi’s reimagined cover of the iconic Persian song, Gole Yakh was featured in Blood of Iran, which won at Best Documentary at Diversity in Cannes for the 2023 Cannes Film Festival as well as the 46th Asian American International Film Festival
