Design, Copy, and Social Media Management for Legislation:
In 2021-2022, I spearheaded the digital campaign for Colorado’s Reproductive Health Equity Act and Safe Health Access to Protected Health Care Act. I had four goals for my work during the campaign: Educate on the legislation and its process, encourage support for the legislation, get shares, and pass the legislation – we repeated the same for 2023’s Safe Health Access to Protected Health Care Package. Both pieces of legislations are now Colorado law. In 2024, I have led on designing templates for all coalitions and comms team for the ballot Initiative 89, Coloradans For Protecting Reproductive Freedom.
Memes / Internet Culture: Who doesn’t love a good meme? Especially ones that give some political context in a digestable manner. Participating in internet culture is vastly important to expand the conversation to what is relevant to your mission. For me, that meant taking events like Fashion Week, the Grammys, Barbiehemier, the Nuggets’ Championship win, and Mean Girls and make it about donating to the abortion fund, spreading information about the landscape of abortion rights, and pushing the conversation. These posts have always brough in a huge increase in shares, profile views, and follows.
Fundraising with Numbers and Stats: When sharing posts for fundraising events like Colorado Gives Day, Giving Tuesday, or for Cobalt’s abortion fund, I believe images with staggering stastics are not only “shareable” but make people want to take action and donate.
Fundraising with Merchandise: To me, a t-shirt, sticker or poster is a walking billboard and reminder of the mission at hand. With Cobalt, I’ve designed the majority of merchandise from 2021 – Present. Merchandise sales have reached over $20,000 in donations for the abortion fund since tracking. My current project has been managing a new merchandise site, implementing bins for each event filled with merch, flyers, and one sheets about the latest legislation that will get passed. In conjunction with raising money for the abortion fund, we’re collecting emails for email marketing for futher donations, volunteers, and donors in the future.
Cobalt In Media: While using merch to raise money for fundraising campaigns, it is was crucial to create posters and printable signs for volunteers and advocates to take to protests and rallies – especially during an election year. These photos were used for articles with major publications like ABC News, Slate, Salon, and NPR’s Colorado Public Radio. I also implemented a designated landing page on the website for people to download and prints.

Email Marketing/Newsletters/Blogs: While majority of Cobalt’s email are created by the development team, I revived the copy and revamped the graphics for The Gemstone, which focuses on abortion news in Colorado and the rest of the US along with something positive at the end. The emails always have a focus on fundraising and volunteering. It has raised over 3k.
While working at The Newman Center for Performing Arts, I had a major focus on email marketing. This extended to creating and managing email lists that varied from show genre preferences, likeness to click links, donors, and volunteers amoung other functions. In an effort to break up the redundant marketing emails during the COVID pandemic, I created The MidWeek Boost it is a weekly newsletter that highlighted arts organizations across the globe filled with acts that had or would have performed at the Newman Center, along with other performing arts programs and businesses in Denver. The newsletter also spotlighted Instagram posts that touched on social and political issues. These efforts lead to a shout out from 5280 Magazine as a newsletter to subscribe to and had the highest click rate of any non ticketed email.
For many freelance clients, I have created blogs posts that showcase news, Youtube videos, and other updates.

Digital Ads for Facebook, Instagram, Email, and Website takeover: I’ve created various digital ads for Facebook, SEOs, and websites for numerous campaigns from 2021 – 2023. For a policy push, Cobalt took over Colorado’s most prominent news website, The Denver Post, and used all the ads I designed for their ad space. While at Cobalt we outsourced our ads with a board member’s company, we did PPC and I was on the team that decided the copy, demographics, and created the designs.
Other Highlights: Voting is important. Seeing abortion in the media is important. Being real with your audience when news is bad is important. Educating your audience is important.
Video Creation / Editing: I’ve written scripts and taught staff how to create Tik Tok videos for our profile. I’ve also assisted with video editing for grant propsoals. For many freelance clients, I’ve take their video content and edited it for “ums, likes” etc and reformated for seperate social media sites. I’ve filmed protests, galas, and interviews. I’m also currently project managing a new segment for our socials called “Abortion Fairy” that showcases abortion rights knowledge from people that are at rallies and organizing events.
